Flute Lessons
The flute has a magical sound and seems to defy physics the way it produces it. From fast and lively bird-like movements to the beautiful slow adagios in symphonic works, you hear the full range of sound that the flute can produce.
Embouchure
Our flute teacher, Genna Cooprider, has a plan to help you start on the flute and improve. Students of all ages and levels are welcome! One of the hardest parts of the flute is developing how to use your lips and mouth, the embouchure, to produce a beautiful tone
Exercise
Playing the flute, and piccolo or fife, requires great breath control and at SSO you will get exercises to develop an understanding of your own breathing in order to maximize your flute playing and ability. You will also learn how to pour emotion into your music to make each piece your own, after you develop your technique.
