Oboe Lessons
Prepare to be amazed by the wonderful oboe. This instrument is unique, beautiful, and fun to play. You'll recognize the oboe in most orchestral music with its playful sound as well as its long and beautiful solo parts that tug at your heart and soul.
Beauty
We learn music to share it, and the oboe has a distinctly beautiful sound. Our oboe teacher, Shawn R. Meloy, will work with beginners to advanced oboists on bringing out the beauty through instruction on embouchure (your mouth), breath, and eventually reed making after you have made enough progress.
Vibrato and Tone
The oboe has a few differences from the other woodwinds like the flute in its proper fingering but it is the uniqueness of the double reed that will put forth the most difficulty. Learning first to control pitch and volume you will then develop a beautiful tone and of course a personal vibrato.
