Jessica Blinn | Instructor
Jessica Blinn is a professional jazz singer and violinist, executive voice coach, and music teacher.
As a singer, Jessica is known for her soulful artistry, and ability to make a song come to life, touching the hearts of her audience, enlivening and inspiring joy.
Jessica has performed all over the Pacific Northwest including at the Yelm Jazz festival, the Mossyrock Jazz Festival, the Ocean Shore Jazz festival, numerous Harlequin Theatre Productions, the Art House with Pearl Jango, and the 2013 Governor’s Inaugural Ball where she lead her own octet. For two years she had the honor of playing with Olympia's Erev Rav Klezmer Orchestra, voted 2013 Best Band of Olympia in the Weekly Volcano. She played and toured with Windham Hill artist Scott Cossu for many years and can be heard playing the violin on his ‘Jazz, Boogie & Déjá Blues’ album. She currently performs with with her own quartet and local jazz guitarists Vince Brown, Tarik Bentlemsani and Daven Tillinghast.
As an Executive Voice coach, Jessica trains professionals to use their voices for executive power, presence and purpose.
As a teacher, Jessica is dedicated to creating environments in which students have fun and develop confidence, well being and leadership by developing their musical voices and attaining their musical goals. Jessica runs her own private studio at Sound Studios Olympia, conducts the Olympia Jazz Singers and teaches voice and piano classes at South Puget Sound Community College.
Jessica grew up in the Bay Area in an extremely musical family, playing string quartets with her cousins, singing Mozart with her mom, arias and jazz with her uncle and jamming with her grandma. She received a BA in music from Wesleyan University and a Masters in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
